Abstract
Integration of the subsystems is one of the main difficulties which are now getting in the way of the building automation system (BAS) development. With the development of IT technology, building control systems are becoming increasingly intelligent, while the incompatibility and inflexibility of the communication method and control strategies still need to be improved in order to achieve the better control performance. This paper proposes an information sharing BAS, which can help to liberate the design of the control strategies from the restrictions of the structure of the communication network and make the two parts of the BAS independent of each other. An open and flexible network provides an information platform which can collect data from the BAS devices and manage the communication between them. The sensors, actuators and controllers can also use the information platform, sharing their data and receiving what they need without being concerned with the communication. This new BAS has been applied to a real building and shows considerable advantages in system design, debugging and operation.
